A few words about craftsmanship & your Amber’s Furniture Table:
Your Amber’s Furniture table is a natural, genuine wood product. Skilled craftsman have turned Mother Nature’s raw material into a one of a kind product for you to enjoy. It is yours, and it is unique! No other Amber’s product has exactly the same colour, grain pattern, or chemical make-up. These characteristics are Mother Nature’s personal fingerprints. The natural beauty of your Amber’s product will become apparent to you as you treat your prized possession for any minor ailment that may show up.
The very best techniques in manufacturing have already gone into our product. However, since solid oak, maple, birch and other hardwoods are organic materials, they will expand and contract with changes in temperature and humidity. The longevity and look of your product will be determined by your care. Your product may require more care during dry winter months, as opposed to more humid spring and summer months. It is recommended that you maintain your home humidity level at around 35%.
Amber’s uses a catalyzed lacquer that requires 30 days to fully harden. Please take extra precautions to protect your product during this period.
Using place mats and common sense is always recommended, especially on Maple and darker colours.
General Care and Maintenance:
To clean your wood product use a damp cloth, wipe and dry with the grain. Do not use excessive amounts of water to clean the top surface. Wipe off any spills as soon as they occur.
You may occasionally choose to polish your product using a water based polish. We recommend Guardsman Furniture Polish. Avoid any polish containing silicone, wax, and chemicals that will build up a residue on your product.
Excessive heat can damage your finish. Do not put pizza boxes, take out containers, or hot pots on your table without proper protection as they will cause part of the finish to turn white. However, Amber’s finish can easily be repaired. In the event of excessive heat damage use mild sand paper or fine steel wool. Sand with the grain. Refinish and continue normal maintenance.
